“Fresh Tracks” 5K Snowshoe Walk and Race

February 11, 2014

To benefit the Eric Nageotte-Lowe Memorial Fund.

If you have never experienced snowshoeing, this is your chance!  If you can walk, you can snowshoe!  You don’t have to race, just have FUN!  Sign up by Feb. 15 to save $10 (save $10 over race day registration) and be sure to reserve a pair of snowshoes if you need them or bring your own.

The Tahoe Mountain Milers Running Club has been hosting a snowshoe event over the past fifteen years.  When Eric died, the club decided to designate the Eric Nageotte-Lowe Scholarship Fund  the beneficiary for this event and to rename the event, “The Eric Nageotte  Memorial 5K Snowshoe Race.” Check out the website:

We are so blessed to have an event that will keep the scholarship fund going in Eric’s memory.   This year we helped pay for new uniforms for the whole team and coaches.  Sho Kashima, friend and teammate of Eric, is currently on the U.S. Ski “A”Team and has benefited from the fund.  Jay Panther and Taryn Baker received funds this year to accomplish their dreams.

This year we added “Girls on the Run –Sierras” as a beneficiary.  This is a local program in our schools that is growing for girls in 3rd-5th grades.

We have swag left over from previous years, …first come, first served.

The earlier you sign up the more money you save!  Online registration is on  Early pre-registration is $20 through Feb. 15.  Feb. 16-21 is $25.  Race day is $30.  Attached is a snail mail registration form.

We will be barbecuing sausages and hot dogs along with other post-race refreshments, veggie-chili, fruit, cookies, and cocoa.  It’s a party in the snow! Come join the FUN!

If you cannot attend the snowshoe event, maybe you know someone who has been wanting to try it……please pass this information on….or come out and volunteer.  Call us at 775-588-2864.  Email:
